Why does it rain here?

Dear Quatty,

Lissa's dad thinks it rains more here because the clouds hit the mountains and the water gets squeezed out of them. I think that's funny.

  1. Meteoroligists call it orographic convection. That's when clouds are forced to rise because of mountains and it causes the cloud's moisture to be squeezed out as rain/snow (depending on the temperature).
