This morning I noticed my potato plants didn't look so good, so I dug one up to see what was going on. To my surprise I found the tiniest potatoes i've ever seen. They were just a tad larger than a jellybean, which is why I'm now calling them potato beans! Are they full grown? Who knows. They are adorable.

Recently a hole appeared in my front yard. I'm guessing a critter has decided to live there.
This morning I pulled up a rather large weed from my planter and decided I should plant it in that hole. I'm hoping whatever lives in there will wake up surprised. April fools little rodent! I've plugged your door.

One of the things I got this year was a Snuggie. The sleeve holes are huge and it's furry and sheds everywhere. You can tell where I've been because of the sheet of red fuzz it leaves behind.

Deep sea fishing

Went on a fishing trip. I spent hours at sea with little luck. The one fish I caught was too small to keep and immediately after it was thrown back I threw up.

After pulling up the largest tangle of fishing line the fishermen had ever seen, Adam finally caught one little fish. It was so small that after we fried it up, it was half a fish stick's worth of meat. Tasty though.

If I ever go again it will be with a bag of ginger and a good night's sleep.

It may be because I watched the pilot for "The Walking Dead", but last night I had a crazy zombie dream.
I was in the lobby of a tall building trying to get into the elevator because once I got to the top floors I would be ok. I was armed with a special laser gun that explodes zombie heads. The worst part was that these zombies shot back. One with bright pink hair got a hold of a gun and started firing at me. The dream ended just as the elevator doors shut with me inside. I guess I made it.

At an Asian market I picked up the largest avocado I have ever seen. I think it's a Florida variety. Not as tasty as a smaller one, but it has lasted for days! I think it must be the equivalent of 8 regular avocados. Ridiculous.

Mac Mini

I had to get my mac mini fixed so I took it to a little place called los Feliz Hi-Tech.
A very friendly guy named Brandon took my sick mini and checked it out.

I watched him check it out behind the counter. He even used a stethoscope. I thought that was funny. He told me he was listening to a clicking sound which meant my hard drive was busted.
In the end I lost all my data. But I would recommend going there if you have a mac.
Ask for Brandon. :)

the other day I bought a pillow from ikea. Later that night around 11:30 I remembered I had left it in the trunk of my car. Since my car is parked right next to the recycling bin, I thought i'd save some effort by unwrapping my pillow right there. Ikea rolls those pillows pretty tight so I was struggling with it for a few minutes. Suddenly a man comes running at me from behind a house shouting. before I even knew what was happening he started apologizing by saying, "oh man, so sorry, I thought you were this burglar who came and stole my bike the other night. I thought you were him. I heard someone back here and I was gonna catch him this time"
It happened so fast I didn't even have time to freak out. I was just stunned there holding my half unrolled pillow tube.

I finally met one of my neighbors.

The other day I went to work a little early to get to a meeting. I was slightly in a daze so it took me a moment to register that it was a little unusual to see a buff dude with no shirt on in the parking lot. It looked like he was picking out what shirt to wear that day. My only thought was to look away as soon as possible so he wouldn't think I was staring.
Did he drive to work shirtless? Who gets dressed in the parking lot?
It's a good thing I usually arrive later.

Snow Muto

This little guy was from the last Micro Gallery show. It's another piece made of needle felted wool. The show was winter themed so he has a bunch of snowballs in hand. Due to the rosy cheeks, many people thought this was a cute little girl. I let it slide.
Some people liked it so much they commissioned me to make one for them. I might set up an etsy shop and see if anyone's interested.

Trick Or Treat Wolf

For the Halloween Micro gallery show, I made this little trick or treat wolf. He actually turned out looking more like a fox, but he's supposed to be a wolf.
He's about 6 inches tall, made completely out of needle felted wool, and has a small wire running through his tail to help him stand.
This photo has a cloth scarf, but the finished piece has a black scarf that I knitted with toothpicks and embroidery floss. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of it yet.
The money they made from the show was donated to charity.

The next show will be winter themed. I don't know what I'll make for that yet.

Micro Gallery

At work we had our first micro gallery show, set up at the end of one of the halls. Everyone was invited to do an alcohol themed piece no larger than 6 x 6. The purpose was to raise money for a portable bar.
This is a slanted poor quality photo of my framed piece.

I was walking the other day and there was this huge crow walking in front of me. It kept looking back at me and hopping forward as though I were some creep. I tried to walk slower so it would see we just happened to be walking in the same direction. I realized it was silly to be concerned with what the crow thought of me, but it was a scary bird.

Beach Party

Went to the beach on Sunday for Lissa's Birthday. We spent the whole day on the sand and lit up a bonfire at night. I scooped out a little chair and read my comic book. Jason dug a really deep hole and stayed in it for most of the day. Every kid that walked by was amazed.

Unrelated, today I thought it would be nice to wear some perfume so I put some on in the morning. Turns out I forgot my deodorant. :(

Yesterday I was excited because I signed up for a massage. It was supposed to be a 30 minute chair massage, but didn't end up that way. I was greeted by an asian lady who looked like a roller derby girl. She had on a bright tide shirt and short shorts. I guess that's what makes her comfortable.

Turns out "crunchy" means the little bits of lactic acid built up in my muscles. Later I realized that you're supposed to tip your masseuse. I felt pretty bad and started to stress out, probably undoing the benefits of the massage. This morning I woke up with really sore shoulders.

In a meeting the other day I was sitting next to one of the directors and my ring flew under his seat. Nobody seemed to notice, so I spent the whole time glancing under his seat trying to think of ways to discretely get it back.

Today I was eating lunch and this guy walking past dropped a pastry bag off his tray. He didn't seem to notice he'd dropped anything. The best thing to do would have been to alert him right then that he'd dropped it. But I didn't. I asked if anyone else saw that he'd dropped it. They thought so and we just stared at it trying to decide if we should pick it up. He was sitting near by and hadn't noticed anything missing. We were waiting for him to realize it was gone and then point to it if he looked over. He never did. At this point we had waited long enough that it would have been awkward to approach him about the bag. Then a guy with a cart rolled past and the wheel ran directly over the bag smashing its contents. The guy picked it up and tossed it in the trash. We could have saved that man's pasty, but instead we watched it die.

Today I was drizzling honey onto some almonds I was eating at my desk. later I noticed I had spilled some on my shirt. I didn't have a napkin on hand so I tried to lick it off. Just as I had my shirt clutched in my hands with my tongue sticking out someone walked by. It was too awkward for them to ask, so they just kept walking.

Dear Quatty,

You know the ugly window sill the land lady shoved against the house to try and keep the dog out? Well it's not working. The other day I found a pile of poop right in the middle of the dirt patch where the lady stole my tree.

I called mammy and she said to cut up peppers and sprinkle it on the spot. That would keep the dog away.

I sprinkled those peppers all over the place and went for a drive with Muto. I forgot to wash my hands after cutting the pepper and wiped my eye.

Mutie ran out of the car like a hero and bought me a bottle of water. I held it up to my flaming eyeball. I also splashed the water over my eyes and was thankful I hadn't applied any mascara that day.

This morning there was no poop on the lawn, but a pile right outside the fence. Either the dog was lazy today or the peppers worked. Results are inconclusive.

Dear Quatty,
This morning I was rushing to work because I had a meeting. I didn't have time look for a better parking spot so I squeezed into a really small one. It was next to a pillar so I couldn't open my door more than about 10 inches. Obviously it didn't work and I got stuck half way out the car. The only thing to do was to squeeze my way back into the car and crawl over the passengers seat. I lost one of my shoes in the process and tumbled out. Thankfully no one else was around and I got to the meeting on time. I guess I'll have to crawl back in to go home :)

Dear Quatty,

Happy Monday.
For a while now I've thought about what the perfect source of magic money would be. Some people wish they could have a money tree. That would be nice, but it would also make me very nervous. What if you're a bad gardener like me and accidentally kill it? Would you also have to wait for the dollar leaves to grow before harvesting them? if people found out about your tree you would have to protect it. Sounds inconvenient.

So I thought I would rather have a small magic box that I could ask for either a certain amount of money, some gold, or diamonds. Every time i opened the box the new things would appear. I thought it might be better to ask for diamonds because then I could trade them for the money they're worth. It would take more effort and might look a bit suspicious, but it would be better than putting a bunch of new currency in circulation. I would have to worry about people finding out and stealing the box. I might also lose it.

What would you choose?

The other night I went to Granville cafe for dinner and my sandwich came with their signature rosemary chips. I'm pretty sure they made me sick because I puked so hard when I got home that I got food lodged up my nose. Awful. Why was it the chips? I just know. It could have been bad cheese in the caprese sandwich. But I still think it was the chips.

Don't worry, the food came out of my nose after I blew it. It just stung a bit.

Last night I tried a bunch of Kinder brand chocolates that Pen was nice enough to save for me. I had all kinds of interesting things including my recent favorite, the Bueno bar. Dear Quatty,

Last weekend I wanted to wear a dress but I needed to shave my legs. I was gonna wear boots so I figured I only needed to shave the top part. I changed my mind about the outfit and decided to try leggings and sandals instead, so I shaved the part that stuck out from the leggings. I ended up not wearing that either so now I have a ring of hair left. Next time I should just shave the whole thing like normal people do.
